Family Help Center
Helpful answers for families using Nueces Innovation Studio™.
Nueces Innovation Studio™ helps students and families organize and present science fair projects. A parent or guardian must create and manage the account, supervise the student’s use, and approve information entered into the workspace.
Getting Started
The Studio is currently available through participating science fairs, schools, and organizations that provide an event access code.
During the beta period, access may be limited to approved events or participating groups.
Select Get started and follow the instructions to enter your event access code and create or access your account.
A parent or guardian must create and manage the account. Use the same account whenever your family returns to work on the project.
Follow your event organizer’s instructions for obtaining an access code.
An event access code connects your project to the participating science fair, school, or organization.
Access to the Studio does not mean that your project has been approved or that science fair registration is complete. Follow your event’s project approval and registration requirements.
The Studio is for students working with a parent or guardian.
A parent or guardian must create and manage the account, supervise the student’s use, and approve information before it is entered. Students may participate in the workspace under that supervision.
Students should do the thinking, investigating, observing, and explaining. Parents and guardians help with safety, reading, organization, and using the app. An educator may also help with the project but does not replace the required parent or guardian.
Beta means the Studio is still being developed and improved. Features may change, and you may encounter errors or interruptions.
Review saved work and downloaded files carefully. Keep a downloaded copy of your project, and contact support if something does not work as expected.
Using the Workspace
Guided Project walks families through the project sections step by step. Optional Grammar Check is available in this path.
Fast Track lets families enter prepared project content into a template. Grammar Check is not available in Fast Track.
Both paths require parent or guardian supervision and should reflect the student’s own work and learning.
Families can organize project content such as the question, hypothesis or prediction, variables, materials, procedure, observations, data, results, and conclusion.
The Studio also helps families prepare a project presentation, supporting appendix materials, and My Project Story where available.
Complete the required fields shown in your chosen path.
A Project ID is the identifier assigned to your project in the Studio. It is used in place of the student’s name on the project presentation.
Use the Project ID when your organizer asks for it on registration or submission forms.
Do not add the student’s name, grade, school, or other identifying details to the presentation.
The Studio saves work automatically as it is entered. Watch the save-status message and allow saving to finish before closing the page or switching devices.
If you see an error or an unsaved-changes message, keep the page open until you can confirm that your work has saved.
A parent or guardian should supervise entries and approve their content. Automatic saving does not replace that review.
Open the presentation preview and use the available download or export options. Choose the format and size required by your science fair.
Check the downloaded file for missing text, cut-off sections, image quality, and identifying information before printing or submitting it.
Keep a downloaded copy for your family’s records.
Yes. Sign in with the same parent or guardian account to access saved project work.
Allow saving to finish before switching devices. Avoid editing the same project on two devices at the same time.
The Project Timeline helps your family organize project tasks and target dates.
Follow the official deadlines provided by your science fair organizer. Dates you set in the Studio do not change the event’s deadlines.
Grammar Check and Student Work
Grammar Check is an optional AI-supported feature that checks entered text for possible grammar errors.
It is available only in Guided Project. It is not intended to generate project ideas, write sections, develop conclusions, or invent observations and results.
Yes. Grammar Check may miss errors or suggest changes that are incorrect.
The parent or guardian should review suggestions with the student. Accept only changes that preserve the student’s ideas and meaning.
No. It is optional.
Families may review and correct their writing themselves. Follow your science fair’s rules about assistance and use of AI-supported tools.
No. Grammar Check is available only in the Guided Project path.
Parent and Educator Support
A parent or guardian must:
- Create and manage the account
- Supervise the student’s use of the Studio
- Approve information before it is entered
- Review photographs and other uploaded materials
- Review the project before it is exported or submitted
- Complete any required parent confirmations and event registration forms
Parents, guardians, and educators can help with safety, materials, scheduling, reading instructions, and encouragement.
Helpful questions include:
- “What are you trying to find out?”
- “What do you think will happen?”
- “What did you notice?”
- “What did you learn?”
Adult support should help the student understand and explain their own work.
Students should contribute the project’s ideas, observations, and explanations. They should be able to explain the question, what they did, what they observed, what the results showed, and what they learned.
An educator may support the student’s project, but a parent or guardian is still required to create and manage the Studio account, supervise its use, and approve project entries.
Privacy and Safety
Student projects are not publicly displayed through ordinary project creation or submission.
When a parent or guardian submits a project for science fair review, authorized organizers and reviewers may access the submitted materials. Authorized Studio personnel or service providers may also access information when needed for platform operation, support, or security, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Families should follow event rules when downloading, printing, or sharing project materials.
Do not include the student’s name, grade, school, email address, telephone number, home address, student ID number, or other identifying details in project text, presentations, photographs, or uploaded files.
Avoid personal, family, medical, or financial information. Use the assigned Project ID where requested.
Provide registration information only through the forms designated by your event organizer.
Upload only photos of project materials, experiment setups, and results.
Do not upload photos containing:
- Children or adults, including their faces
- Names, name tags, or school information
- Addresses or personal documents
- License plates
- Screens showing personal information
- Other identifying details
A parent or guardian must review each photo before uploading it.
No. Access to the Studio is separate from project safety approval.
Follow your science fair’s rules. If approval is required before experimentation or data collection, wait for that approval before beginning.
Remove it from the project and check any affected presentation or export.
If the project has already been submitted, or you need help removing information, contact support@nuecesstoryworks.com. Include the Project ID and a brief description of the issue; avoid repeating sensitive information in the email.

Before Final Submission
The parent or guardian should review the presentation and any supporting materials with the student.
Confirm that:
- Required sections are complete
- The project reflects the student’s own work and learning
- Observations, measurements, and results are accurate
- The project follows applicable science fair and safety rules
- The Project ID is correct
- No student names, grades, school details, or other identifying information appear
- Photos follow the upload rules
- The preview and downloaded presentation display correctly
Keep a downloaded copy for your records.
After reviewing the project, the parent or guardian should select Submit for Science Fair Review and complete the required confirmation.
Check that the Studio shows the submission was received. Contact support if you encounter an error.
Not necessarily. Your event may require separate registration and consent forms.
For the Uvalde County Science Fair, families must also complete the Final Registration & Consent Form. Official acceptance is confirmed by an approval email after the project and required registration materials have been reviewed.
Your family will be notified. Follow the instructions provided to revise and resubmit the project.
Submission alone does not guarantee approval or acceptance.
My Project Story can help students practice explaining their question, what they did, what they observed, and what they learned.
Review the story together to make sure it accurately reflects the project. Students can practice reading or explaining it aloud in their own words.
If the story feature is not yet available, complete the required project fields indicated in the workspace.
